About Me

Hello, I’m Moira Clifton—a writer and musician with a passion for stories that linger in memory, music and place.

In the ’90s, I was the vocalist for bands such as Faith Over Reason and Ova - you might recognise my voice from Saint Etienne’s cover of Only Love Can Break Your Heart. Music has been my lifelong companion, shaping how I hear the world and the stories I tell.

Now I write books and music reviews that explore the textures of lived experience—always with a warm, witty and wistful eye. My writing is like a conversation with a thoughtful friend over tea: gentle, honest and full of small, telling details that connect past and present.

When I’m not writing or singing, I’m often found wandering secondhand bookshops, hiking through the countryside, or quietly humming an old tune.
